Brands Ambassador Africa, a brands communication Television Reality Show that seeks to unearth Africa’s first youth oriented corporate model, was launched in Accra on Friday.
The Show, a flagship programme organised by Media Men Ghana, a media consultancy, aims to interlink the social and corporate sectors while impacting positively on its associates brands and promote diligence, professionalism and excellence among young professionals.
It would also serve as a platform for the display of their skills and talents to make them employable to foster significant growth in Africa.
Madam Efua Jecty, the Head of Corporate Operations of the Consultancy, said: ‘It is in this vein that Media Men Ghana developed the concept of a PR and Marketing reality show to nurture ideal brand ambassadors.
She said the show, which was distinctly designed to realise the most outstanding candidate, unparalleled in looks and competence, would have activities designed to ensure quality return on investment and productivity of its associate’s brands to enhance socioeconomic growth across board.
Madam Jecty said 22 most outstanding, smart and presentable young professionals and wannabes with excellent knowledge and exceptional niche in brands communication with tertiary qualification, between the ages of 18 and 35 years, shall be selected.
She said they would be selected from 20 African countries, housed in Ghana and groomed for 13 weeks to unearth their talents to qualify for Africa’s first youth oriented Corporate Model.
‘The 20 African countries have been grouped into four zones with Ghana, Benin, Togo, Cote D’Ivoire and Burkina-Faso representing zone one,’ she said.
Madam Jecty mentioned Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo and Angola as countries representing zone two, whiles Mali, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Guinea would belong to zone three with South Africa, Congo Brazzaville, Botswana, Zambia and Kenya occupying the final zone.
Meanwhile, the entire reality show would be under the supervision of a higher body called the Supreme Counsel.
Madam Jecty said the auditions would take place in two phases; ‘Phase One comprises three online (Social Media) dynamics or steps that will be executed by applicants on our website, Facebook and or instagram handles whiles Phase Two is the zonal audition and will take place in the designated countries or zone centres for each zone.’
She mentioned that the Brand Ambassador Africa 2018 winner would have a car, 12 months working contract with major brands, a cash prize of GH¢100,000.00, a fully furnished apartment for a year, a laptop, mobile phone and tablet as prizes.
‘The winner also gets to be the host of the brands Ambassador TV show as well as the co-host of the next season.
‘And each year the overall winner of the show shall automatically assume the CEO position of the setup,’ she said.
She, therefore, called on Africa, especially corporate Africa, to demonstrate the true spirit of Africanism and cooperation through warm hospitality, community and power of unity to stand with the youth.
Dr Koma Jehu-Appiah, the Country Leader of IPASS Ghana, launching the Reality show, lauded the initiative that sought to enhance creativity and employment generation.
The main launch of this novelty would be organised in September to usher the qualified contestants into the house after the overall scouting.
The brands to be featured on the show would be categorised into six main groups namely; ‘food, water and beverage,’ ‘media and Information Technology,’ ‘Telco and finance,’ ‘real estate,’ ‘bedding and décor,’ and finally ‘automobile’.
